Gantry Fibre Isolation

Pinehall are always looking towards new and innovative technical solutions for all markets within the communications arena, the latest of these solutions is our new P-TEC optical fibre gantry isolation system. Our system can cut the cost of more traditional methods involving directional drilling under motorways by up to 50%, thus reducing scheme costs.

The system involves transmitting a light signal over a gantry to an optical switch located in a cabinet on the opposite carriageway, this same signal is then returned to an optical receiver mounted along side the transmitter. If the optical switch is activated the unit recognises the loss of signal and via a contactor coil isolates the power supply to the gantry structure.

Our P-TEC system is TR1100 type approved for use on highways, and we have experienced a very positive response from all clients to date. These include applications not only for the Highways Agency but for markets within the oil and petrochemical industries.
